Progressive Fracture Behavior and Acoustic Emission Release of CJBs Affected by Joint Distance Ratio

چکیده

The progressive collapse behavior and energy release of columnar jointed basalts (CJBs) can be greatly influenced by different joint distance ratios. By adopting the digital image correlation, a series heterogeneous CJB models are established. continuous fracture process acoustic emissions (AEs) captured numerically under varying lateral pressures. load curves ratios model boundaries analyzed. Meanwhile, strength, deformation modulus AE rule discussed. data indicate that plane strain, troughs compression strength appear at column dip angle β = 30°, 150°, 210° or 330°; equivalent changes in an elliptical way with increasing; higher than case between stress strain When accumulation corresponding to peak but becomes lower when increases 60°, which implies critical transformation energy-related failure precursor affected angle. These achievements will contribute design, construction support slopes tunnels encountering CJBs.

Fracture of Human Femur Tissue Monitored by Acoustic Emission Sensors

The study describes the acoustic emission (AE) activity during human femur tissue fracture. The specimens were fractured in a bending-torsion loading pattern with concurrent monitoring by two AE sensors. The number of recorded signals correlates well with the applied load providing the onset of micro-fracture at approximately one sixth of the maximum load. Furthermore, waveform frequency conten...

Measurement of Mixture Mass Ratio by Acoustic Emission Method

The article deals with solid particle flow measurement by acoustic emission method (AE). The particle, that impacts a waveguide, generates impulse AE. AE signal, measured by a piezoelectric wide-band sensor mounted at the end of the waveguide, carries information about parameters of impacting particles (specific mass, velocity, dimensions). The article is a follow-up to formerly performed measu...

Flexural monitoring of carbon fiber/epoxy composite by acoustic emission

Carbon / epoxy composite is one of the most useful polymer matrix composites that has special properties such as high strength-to-weight ratio, high hardness, high corrosion resistance, Resistance to nuclear radiation has high consumption in different industries such as aerospace industry. Therefor monitoring of loading of this type of composite is important. In order to determine failure mecha...

Progressive-ratio schedules and applied behavior analysis.

Establishing appropriate relations between the basic and applied areas of behavior analysis has been of long and persistent interest to me (e.g., Friman & Poling, 1996; Poling, Picker, Grossett, Hall-Johnson, & Holbrook, 1981; Porritt, Van Wagner, & Poling, 2009). Therefore, I read with enthusiasm the collection of articles on progressive-ratio (PR) schedules that appeared in the Summer 2008 is...

Acoustic Emission on Human Femur Tissue Fracture

This study describes the acoustic emission (AE) activity during fracture of human femur tissue under flexural load. The sample is fixed as a cantilever and two AE broadband sensors are placed in different points of the sample, one near the fixing end and the other near the head, where a pin load is applied. The aim is to investigate if AE procedures and indices well established in engineering m...
